Terms of Use

By accessing or using FindInMyZip ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

1. The Service

FindInMyZip is a directory and matching service that connects consumers with local businesses based on reviews, proximity, and category. We aggregate publicly available business information from Google and other sources, and from businesses that claim and edit their own listings.

2. Listings & Claims

Anyone can submit a request to claim a listing through the claim form. Claims are subject to verification. We reserve the right to approve, decline, or revoke any claim at our discretion. Submitting a fraudulent claim, impersonating a business you don't own, or claiming a listing as a competitor's saboteur will result in permanent banning.

3. Lead Routing

When a consumer submits a "Get Matched" request, we may route their contact information to up to three businesses in the relevant category and zip code. Businesses receiving leads agree to handle that information lawfully (see Privacy Policy) and to respond promptly. We do not guarantee any particular response rate, conversion rate, or quality of service from listed businesses.

4. Advertising

The Service displays paid advertising. Ads are clearly labeled. We don't endorse advertised products or services and are not responsible for the conduct of advertisers.

5. Premium Subscriptions

FindInMyZip offers a paid Premium Listing at $49 per month. Premium gives a verified business owner control over how their listing is presented — services, service areas, hours, photos, videos, review-source links, social profiles, customer questions and answers, and the structured data published about the business.

Premium is not placement. It does not buy ranking, position, or preferential treatment in search results or category listings. Featured Placement is a separate product, sold separately, and is described where it is offered.

Automatic renewal — please read.

A Premium subscription renews automatically each month at $49 until you cancel. Your payment method is charged at the start of each billing period. We will present these renewal terms clearly before you complete a purchase, obtain your affirmative consent to them, and send you a confirmation after purchase that includes how to cancel.

You may cancel at any time from your business dashboard, which opens the billing portal, or by emailing bryan@findinmyzip.com. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing period you have already paid for; your Premium listing remains active until then. There is no cancellation fee and no requirement to speak to anyone to cancel.

Fees are billed in advance and are non-refundable except where required by law. If we change the price of a subscription you already hold, we will tell you before the change takes effect and you may cancel before it applies.

If a payment fails we may retry it. Your listing stays live during a short retry window. If payment ultimately fails, or you cancel, your listing reverts to the free version — the information you entered is retained, not deleted, and reappears if you resubscribe.

6. Free Trials

We sometimes offer a Premium trial for a stated period. Where a trial is offered without a payment method, nothing is charged when it ends and it does not convert into a paid subscription automatically — we cannot charge a card we do not have. At the end of the trial the listing simply reverts to the free version, and everything entered during the trial is retained.

We may contact you before a trial ends to ask whether you would like to continue. Choosing not to respond ends the trial; it does not create a charge. Trials are limited to one per business unless we say otherwise, and we may withdraw or change trial offers at any time for businesses not already enrolled.

7. The $1 Business Import

The one-time $1 import is a convenience service: we populate your listing from information your business has already published, principally your Google Business Profile. It is charged once and is not a subscription. We do not guarantee that any particular field can be imported — some information is not available to us through the interfaces Google provides — and imported information is presented for you to review, correct and replace.

8. Your Content and Your Representations

You keep ownership of everything you add to your listing. By adding it you grant FindInMyZip a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt for display, and publish that content as part of your listing and in structured data describing it, for as long as your listing is published. This licence exists so we can show your content; it does not let us sell it.

You represent that you are authorised to act for the business, that you have the rights to everything you upload, and that what you publish is accurate and not misleading. You must not upload photographs, logos or text you do not have permission to use.

You may not publish fabricated ratings, invented review counts, fake testimonials, or claims you cannot substantiate. Star ratings shown on the Service come only from sources we can read directly; we do not accept self-reported ratings, and attempting to submit them is a breach of these Terms.

9. Communications, Email and SMS

By creating or claiming a listing you agree that we may send you transactional messages about your account — sign-in links, verification and claim outcomes, billing and renewal notices, security notices, and service changes. These are necessary to provide the Service and are not marketing. You cannot opt out of them while you hold an account, though you may close your account.

Marketing email is separate. Every marketing message includes a one-click unsubscribe, and we honour it immediately. Unsubscribing from marketing does not stop the transactional messages above.

SMS. Where we offer text messaging — for example to deliver leads to a business that has asked for them — we send it only to a number you have given us for that purpose, with your express consent, obtained separately at the point you provide the number. Consent to marketing texts is never a condition of buying anything. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to stop texts, or HELP for help. We honour STOP immediately and automatically.

10. Reviews & Ratings

Star ratings and review counts are aggregated from third-party sources (primarily Google) and are provided as-is. Aggregate scores are point-in-time snapshots and may not reflect the most recent reviews. We do not edit or moderate third-party reviews.

11. Acceptable Use

You agree not to: scrape or copy our database; reverse-engineer the Service; use the Service to harass, defame, or stalk; attempt to gain unauthorized access; submit malicious code; or use the Service in violation of any law.

12. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We don't warrant accuracy, availability, or fitness for any particular purpose. Hire any local business at your own risk and verify licenses, insurance, and references independently.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from the Service is limited to USD $100 or the fees you paid us in the prior 12 months, whichever is greater. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claim arising out of your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of California, USA. Disputes will be resolved in Sonoma County, California.

16. Changes

We may update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be announced via the site. Your continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
